Been tracking my mileage with the fuelly app. I know it is a sacrilege to penny pinch with a MS3, but it is a good way to monitor my driving habits. This was 80% highway, mileage. I managed 26.4 last week in more mixed driving conditions.

Things really stunk when the weather got real cold and the ecu starts throwing more fuel at it. Anyone else enjoy tracking their mpg's?

Enjoy? No. Do I do it? Yes. My V6 truck is getting 12 mpg and my V8 trans am got 11. 30 years of progress between the two cars and my MPG figures still suck.

I've not tried tracking mine..I wouldn't enjoy it I'm sure, I went from a car that got on average 40 MPG to one that is supposed to get on average 19..

I drive 320 miles on the highway every other weekend to get my kids and take them back. I used to set my cruise at 85 and got 22-23 mpg. I tested out setting the cruise at 75 one weekend and got 28.3. Now I always set the cruise at 75 and have gotten close to 30 several times. 99 Accord 5 speed 120,000 miles with a trunk full of heavy shit.

I had a Chevy Cruze, but now I've got a 06' 350Z...should probably track it, as well as my Beetle, Beetle might cheer me up..or..do the opposite ( I have no clue with the Beetle, lol)

Yep. That speed will make a huge difference. I find that 65-75 are money.

Yeah, I drove 550 miles/week I quickly dropped from 80 to 70 because of the fuel savings. I realized I was getting to work about 5 minutes slower with the traffic lights and what not.

Every tank. It goes down in winter and up once it hits 60 degrees. It's weird, it could get up in the 50s, and I'll still get 25, but anytime it's 60+ I get 28. It's not gradual at all. I even tried taping the grill to hold the heat and improve aero, didn't help much.

Yeah I'm sure I'd do even better at 65 but I just can't stay awake going that slow. I was really surprised that 10 miles an hour cost me 8 miles per gallon. I figured I'd get maybe 2 better but what a big surprise. Also that's with air conditioning on with and without the kids. I like to be comfortable.

Were your savings similar to mine? you're right there really isn't a huge difference in time. you'll always run into traffic or lights that will slow you down anyway

I went from about 29 to 33....highest was 35 and I guess the wind was blowing right. Of course I was driving and auto Corolla. (Please don't let that get out). My Land Cruiser wouldn't be good to my wallet at 550 miles at 15 MPGs.

I know that feeling, I have a Durango that just sits unless there is snow because it only gets 12 MPG but only with a light foot.

I've got over 80k miles tracked on Fuelly. ;) Your 28.3 beats my best, but I've done better than 26.4mpg.
